Your ULTRAMATIC transmission was a modern, well designed, good performing unit when it was new.
In the past 60+ years, both time and mileage have taken their toll on the performance and reliability of your ULTRAMATIC.

We have assembled rebuilding kits for all ULTRAMATICs. These kits will not only help restore the transmission to its
original condition, but will make it more reliable than new.

The bands (optional) and clutch are made of newly developed materials as used in GM cars instead of the
original cork. All critical seals are of the highest quality butyl-neoprene material.

DIRECT DRIVE CLUTCH

If your transmission slips in Direct Drive (over 30 mph) or groans into top gear, your Direct Drive clutch has become hardened and lost it’s proper friction quality. We can reline your Direct Drive clutch plate with modern high performance lining for $125.00 exchange, or add $175.00 deposit (Note: 1950-52 with 11-1/4" or 11-3/4 “ are $158.00, exchange only.) - See Note #1

Note #1 Packard Core Deposit Policy

All cores sent to us must be rebuildable or additional charges will apply.
The following requirements for an acceptable core or exchange unit is as
follows. NOTE: DISASSEMBLED CORES ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE.

CONDITION: The core must be in good condition. Any cores with broken parts, excessive rust or damage are subject to a partial refund if the condition can be corrected. If core is beyond repair, no refund will be given. Additional charges may apply.

COMPLETENESS: The core must be complete. Any missing parts will be deducted from the core value.

WEAR: If the core is worn beyond normal allowable standards and cannot be rebuilt, no refund will be issued and core will be returned to you at your request. If core can be repaired, a partial refund will be issued or additional charges may apply.

Note #2 Large Parts Crating and Shipping

Windshields, radiators, manifolds, rear ends, engine blocks, etc. may
require a crating charge. These items must be sent by truck, freight collect.
