Kanter, LLC dba Kanter Auto (“Kanter,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates www.kanter.com. For privacy laws that use the term controller, Kanter is the controller of the information described here. This policy does not apply to third-party websites or services that publish their own privacy notices.

• Contact and account information — Name, email address, telephone number, postal address, login credentials, saved addresses, account identifiers, and communication preferences.
• Orders and payments — Products ordered, vehicle and fitment details, billing and shipping information, transaction status, limited payment details, returns, and warranty records. Payment services process card information. For telephone orders, an authorized employee may enter card information into the payment system.
• Forms and communications — Information submitted through contact, catalog, wholesale, newsletter, back-in-stock, or similar forms, including company information, tax-exemption documents, questions, reviews, and customer-support messages.
• Device and site activity — IP address, approximate location derived from it, device and browser information, cookie and advertising identifiers, pages and products viewed, searches, links selected, referring pages, dates and times, and site performance or error information.
• Information from other services — Order, delivery, transaction, fraud-prevention, campaign, audience, and interaction information from commerce, payment, shipping, analytics, advertising, and social-media services.

Account credentials and government or tax identifiers included in submitted tax documents may qualify as sensitive information under some laws. We use this information only for authentication, security, tax review, legal compliance, and other permitted operational purposes.

• Provide products and services — Process payment, fulfill and deliver orders, check fitment, manage accounts, apply wholesale pricing, and handle returns and warranty claims.
• Communicate — Send order, account, safety, and policy notices and answer questions, quote requests, applications, and catalog requests.
• Operate and improve — Remember settings, understand site use, test features, diagnose errors, improve products and service, and create aggregated or deidentified information.
• Protect and comply — Authenticate users, prevent fraud and misuse, secure systems, keep tax and accounting records, respond to lawful requests, and establish or defend legal claims.
• Market — Send permitted marketing, measure campaigns, create audiences, and show relevant advertising, subject to consent and opt-out rights.

We do not collect, use, or sell personal information to train large language models.

We disclose personal information to the following categories of recipients when reasonably necessary for the purposes above:

• Commerce providers — Website hosting, checkout, payment, fraud prevention, inventory, shipping, returns, and warranty providers.
• Operations providers — Email and text delivery, forms, customer support, secure storage, cloud hosting, analytics, error monitoring, and security providers.
• Advertising and social partners — Advertising, campaign measurement, audience, and social-media platforms, subject to applicable consent and opt-out rights.
• Legal and transaction recipients — Professional advisers, insurers, regulators, courts, law enforcement, and parties involved in a financing, reorganization, sale, or transfer of the business.

We do not sell personal information for money. Certain disclosures of identifiers, device information, internet activity, approximate location, or shopping interests to advertising partners may be treated as a sale, sharing, or targeted advertising under some U.S. state laws. You can opt out using Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information in the site footer. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16.

We use cookies, pixels, tags, local storage, and similar technologies. Essential technologies operate checkout, security, accounts, carts, and privacy settings. Preference technologies remember choices. Analytics technologies, including Google Analytics, measure visits, performance, and errors. Advertising technologies measure campaigns and may help personalize advertising.

Where consent is required, including for EU and UK visitors, nothing beyond the essential technologies runs until you choose Accept all or turn on individual purposes. Elsewhere, analytics and advertising technologies run by default, and you can turn them off at any time. Shopify, which runs our store and checkout, sets its own cookies and uses them according to your choices; see Shopify’s cookie policy. Use Cookie preferences in the site footer to change your choices. Browser controls may also block cookies, although essential site features may stop working.

Advertising and analytics partners. Third-party vendors, including Google and Meta, use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies to collect information about your visits to this and other websites. They use it to measure our advertising and to show you Kanter ads on other sites based on your earlier visits. You can limit personalized ads in Google’s Ad Settings, in your Meta account settings, through the Digital Advertising Alliance or, in Europe, Your Online Choices, and in your device settings.

If enabled with required consent, session-replay technology may record how a browser interacts with the site so we can diagnose performance and usability issues. We configure it to exclude checkout and payment pages.

• Targeted advertising — Use Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information in the site footer, or the Sharing for targeted advertising switch in Cookie preferences. We process legally recognized opt-out preference signals, including Global Privacy Control, as required for the browser or device sending the signal. We do not respond to the older “Do Not Track” browser setting.
• Email — Use the unsubscribe link in a marketing email. We may still send order, account, security, request, or policy messages.
• Text messages — Marketing texts require a separate opt-in and are not a condition of purchase. Reply STOP to opt out and HELP for help, use another revocation method identified in the message, or contact us. Message and data rates may apply.

We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described here. Order, tax, payment, return, and warranty records are kept for applicable legal, accounting, warranty, fraud, and dispute periods. Account information is kept while an account is active and for a reasonable period afterward. Marketing information is kept until you unsubscribe, with a limited suppression record to honor that choice. Support, analytics, advertising, session-replay, and privacy-request records are kept under approved settings and for legitimate operational, security, or compliance needs.

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed for the nature of the information we handle. No transmission or storage system is completely secure. Use a unique password and contact us if you believe your account or information has been compromised.

Depending on where you live and whether a law applies to Kanter, you may have rights to confirm whether we process your information; access or obtain a portable copy; correct inaccuracies; delete information; opt out of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising; or limit certain uses of sensitive information. Some rights and exceptions vary by state.

Describe the right you want to exercise and provide enough information for us to identify the relevant records. We will verify and respond as required by applicable law. Authorized agents may submit requests where permitted. If an applicable state law provides an appeal right, reply to our decision or contact us with the subject “Privacy Appeal.” We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.

How to request deletion of Meta connected data

Any user, regardless of location, may request deletion of personal information that Kanter received through Facebook, Instagram, or another Meta-connected feature.

Email [email protected] with the subject line “Meta Data Deletion Request.” Include the name and email address associated with your interaction and any additional information reasonably necessary for us to locate the relevant records. You may also submit the request using the mailing address or toll-free telephone number in the Contact us section.

After verifying the request, we will delete the personal information received through the Meta-connected feature and associated records without undue delay, except for information we must retain to comply with law, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, or establish or defend legal claims. We do not charge a fee for submitting a deletion request, and we will confirm completion or explain any information we are required to retain.

Disconnecting Kanter through Facebook, Instagram, or another Meta service does not necessarily delete information that Kanter previously received. Submit a separate deletion request using the instructions above.

This section applies when EU GDPR or UK GDPR governs our processing, including when we offer and ship products to customers in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom.

• Orders and accounts — Contact, account, order, payment, delivery, fitment, return, and warranty information. Legal basis: to perform our contract with you and take requested pre-contract steps.
• Tax and compliance — Transaction, tax, identity, request, and recordkeeping information. Legal basis: to comply with legal obligations and establish or defend legal claims.
• Operations and security — Support, device, site-activity, fraud, error, and service information. Legal basis: our legitimate interests in operating, securing, supporting, and improving the business, balanced against your rights.
• Marketing and tracking — Contact preferences, campaign, cookie, advertising, analytics, and session-replay information. Legal basis: consent where required; otherwise legitimate interests where permitted. Consent may be withdrawn at any time.

You may request access, correction, deletion, portability, or restriction; object to processing based on legitimate interests or to direct marketing; and withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing. You may also complain to the supervisory authority where you live or work or where you believe a violation occurred.

We and our providers process information in the United States and other countries. Where required, transfers may rely on an adequacy decision, an applicable Data Privacy Framework certification, standard contractual clauses, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or Agreement, or another lawful safeguard. The site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13 without legally required parental consent. Contact us if you believe a child provided information.

We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices, services, or legal obligations. We will post the revised policy and update the date above. We will provide additional notice or obtain consent when required.
