Castrol Classic Engine Oil

Castrol Classic Engine Oils are a range of premium mineral and multigrade oils specially formulated for classic, vintage, and older technology vehicles. Each grade meets the specific lubrication needs of pre-modern engines, delivering outstanding wear protection, varnish control, and corrosion resistance.

Choose the right grade for your vehicle:

• GP 50 – A traditional low-detergent SAE 50 monograde for pre-1950s performance cars and pre-1970s motorcycles. Provides excellent high-temperature performance, noise suppression, and very high-level wear protection. Master Data Sheet.
• XXL 40 – A premium SAE 40 monograde ideal for pre-1950s performance cars and pre-1970s multi-cylinder motorcycle engines under road and competition conditions. Excellent noise suppression and high-temperature performance. Master Data Sheet. Master Data Sheet.
• XL 30 – A premium SAE 30 monograde suited to veteran and vintage classics built before the 1950s, classic motorcycles with roller main bearings, and pre-selector gearboxes such as the Wilson type. Offers excellent cold-start performance and strong oil pressure at high temperatures. Master Data Sheet.
• XL 20W-50 – A conventional 20W-50 multigrade engine oil with ZDDP for pre-1988 classic cars and motorcycles (API: SF). Suitable for wet clutches, ideally suited to older-technology engines, and delivers very high wear protection. Available in collectible Classic tins. Master Data Sheet.
• GTX 10W40 – A mineral 10W/40 engine oil produced to original formulation for vehicles from 1978 to 1993. Period-correct balanced additives include ZDDP; suitable for naturally aspirated and turbocharged engines, petrol or diesel, with or without a catalytic converter. Master Data Sheet.
